Extreme Evangelism Medical Mission 08
September 1-10, 2008
This years "Extreme Evangelism Medical Mission" to Orissa, India was a huge success! The team of 6 was able to minister to over 300 Indians in 3 different villages, giving them free medical care and sharing the good news of Christ with each one!! The ground work was also laid for 'Christmas in a Backpack 2008'!! Thanks to all of you that helped in some way. The team is very grateful for your prayers and support! Please continue to pray for the Indian pastors and Christians in Orissa as they press on with day to day persecution. And, remember to thank God you live in a nation where you are free to worship Jesus Christ!

United Sports Camp
April 2008
Simple Obedience to God's call..........those are the words that come to mind when we think about the 2008 Sports Camp Team. This team traveled to Goa, South India and held sports camps in two different cities. They were able to minister to 300 Indian Children...........and, the best news is approximately 130 of those precious children accepted Jesus as their personal savior. Ken could not say enough good things about the team members. I won't mention their names, since I did that in the March newsletter..and I know they don't desire any praise, but you know who you are and we say THANK YOU for giving your spring break vacation to be the 'hands and feet of Jesus' to lost people on the other side of the globe!! Jasion Job, the Indian pastor said this was one of the smoothest camps in all the years we have been doing this. He and Ken said everyone......the American Team and Indian Bible Students worked so well together and NOT ONE complaint! God only desires our obedience in going and HE will do the rest!! Thanks for praying for this project!

Operation Orphan Play
Jan. - Feb. 2008
Our first 10 days in India were spent in the Northeast area of the Nation. We were in Namchii, Sikkim, Siliguri West Bengal, Darjeleeng West Bengal, Delhi and now in Goa South India. The beginning of the trip was the “Operation Orphan Play” which this year we named “A family affair” since the grindlegang were the only ones on the team ;0). We revisited Nehru Memorial School for the Blind and Handicapped. God allowed Net India to build a playground there in 2006 as many of you remember; this was the playground we dedicated to the memory of Ken’s late father, Howard Grindle, so it was particularly special for our kids to visit. We repainted the playground and did minor repairs (new chains on the swings, welding the slide, etc...). We also added a 22 foot concrete fish. It turned out incredible!!! The children can run their hands across the huge fish and feel the scales and teeth and also play inside the belly of the fish as they learn first hand about the story of Jonah and the big fish in the Bible! It was so touching to watch the principle of the school (who has been blind since birth) run his hands over the fish and say how beautiful it is! These students and blind adults that teach in the school are truly amazing and make our daily discomforts quickly fade. As you can imagine their resources here in India are rather dated and scarce….so they learn so much with so little. Our kids loved to watch the principal feel the Indian Rupees and tell which bill was which just by feeling. AMAZING!! They can maneuver around the compound and playground just as if they can see. This playground has also become a BIG treat for all the kids in this village, kids are always playing there. We treasured the week we were able to spend there. The weather there was VERY cold (around 35 d egrees or so each day…some days colder with snow flurries).
