Net India News
October 2008
Hello Net Casters! October is upon us and excitement is in the air! Who could help but fall on their face in gratitude to a loving God as you look at all the beauty around us and feel the crisp fall air? What an awesome God we serve!
"Extreme Evangelism Medical" was a huge success! Ken and the team just returned a couple of weeks ago from Orissa, India. It was amazing to see what an impact the country and people of India had made on them. As I met the team at the airport on their return, they had tears in their eyes as they tried to tell me bits and pieces of all that God had done through them! They were able to minister to over 300 Indians physically and spiritually. The needs were overwhelming at times, but God gave them strength each day! I think they were happy to have a bed to fall into each night.....and didn't even mind not having hot water for bathing (well, maybe they kept the complaints a secret ;0) The team was also able to minister to the national pastors in Orissa through teaching and encouragement. These pastors are facing persecution daily for their faith in Jesus Christ, as most of you have heard in the International News. Please pray for pastor Ignatius and the other pastors in Orissa, India.
Net India's 2008 "Christmas in a Backpack" is our next project. As most of you know this is our biggest annual project! This will be our 7th year of blessing the needy children of India through backpacks full of gifts! Since we launched this project is 2002 Net India has given just over 10,000 backpacks full of Christmas gifts and 3,225 children and adults have given their lives to Christ and have been forever changed...because of your generosity! We are asking for your help once again to reach our goal of 2500 backpacks! In case you are new to this project, let me give you a brief summary of how it works. You can donate a new or like new backpack (no rollers please) along with a $10.00 donation used to fill the backpacks with gifts. The gifts are purchased in India and vary a little each year but are usually a Bible in their language, school supplies, bath towel, wool blanket, soap, hair oil, toothpaste, toothbrush, small toys & fresh fruit. Then, everyone is served a hot meal that we like to call a "love feast". You can also make donations to this project and we purchase the extra backpacks & supplies needed. If you, your church or organization is interested in collecting backpacks and funds, please let us know. This project is so much fun and gives you a chance to be a part of a tremendous work in India! We already have 15 people on this short term mission team, but we would love to have 5 more!! If you are interested in jumping on board, please let us know. The next team meeting will be this Sunday, Oct. 5th @ Riverbend Baptist Church @ 5:00 PM. The dates for this trip are Dec. 29th till Jan. 6, 2009. I promise you, if God is calling you to go, HE will provide all you need and bless you more than you can imagine! You'll never be the same!
"But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased." Hebrews 13:16
Please keep us (The Grindlegang/Net India) in your prayers as well as the Indian pastors and their ministries that Net India assists in India. Pray for all the logistics of this years 'Christmas in a Backpack'....and ask how God would have you be involved!
We understand times are hard economically for everyone. Especially for ministries/non-profit organizations like us. So, please understand how grateful we are for every gift you give to Net India! We know God is always faithful and in full control and you will never miss anything you give to build His Kingdom work! We pray daily that God will restore your gift ten fold! Thank you so much for your regular and special financial gifts. We simply stand in awe of Him as he works through each of you!
Gratefully Going,
Ken, Tracy, McClain & Micah Grindle
